He's Our Rokkii is now unbeaten in three runs this preparation and took his record to five wins in succession, stepping up here to take out his first Group One race here. He settled well in seventh place on the rails from his inside barrier (1) behind a strong pace (first 1000m 60.84). He got through (on the inner) to third on straightening and finished too well to score a strong win in good style. It was also an excellent ride by Dwayne Dunn, his second Group One win in as many races.
Great Esteem went to the front, set a strong place, fought of many challengers, before being overtaken nearing the post for a very good second after running such a bold race.
Tivaci raced in fifth place, between runners. He put in a run at the 200m and battled gamely for a close-up third.
Royal Rapture raced outside the leader (Great Esteem) and did well in holding on for fourth, beaten a length, after racing on a solid pace.
The top weight Awesome Rock settled back in second last place in the 12-horse field and caught the eye with his late-closing (1.5 lengths) fifth.
