Heatherly scored a good first-up win. She began quite well, settled outside the leader (Passing Shot), moved up easily approaching the home turn and grabbed clear break on straightening. She then fought back to record a very good victory.
South Australian-trained mare Viddora settled in sixth place (wide out) from her difficult barrier (9). She challenged nearing the 100m and kept running on resolutely for very good second in a promising effort since her first-up win in the Lightning Stakes (Listed,1050m) at Morphettville on 30 July.
O'Malley was ridden patiently from barrier eight and settled towards the tail of the field. He then went widest of all at the home turn and kept running on nicely to third placing.
