Lord Of The Sky wins 016 Bletchingly Stakes Group 3 $150,000 at Caulfield (VIC), 1200m.
Lord Of The Sky broke through for his first win in two years in taking this race out in good style. Having his second run this preparation, he went to the front as expected, settled nicely under Damien Oliver (first 600m 36.94) before lifting the tempo from the 600m. He grabbed a good break on turning for home and then went on to win well, sprinting home in a smart 34.68.
The favourite Fast 'N' Rocking settled back in eighth place, improved wide at the home turn and finished well for a good second being disadvantaged by a steady early tempo.
Mahuta was handily placed in fourth spot, but wide without cover. He went to second at the 200m and fought well for a good third in a promising effort at his first run this preparation.
