Tivaci wins 2016 XXXX Sunshine Coast Guineas Group 3 $125,000 at Sunshine Coast (QLD) 3yo, 1600m.
The favourite Tivaci began quite well from his good barrier (2) and was given a nice trip by Damian Browne, racing in fourth place on the rails. He eased out nearing the home turn, dashed clear nearing the 200m and was not troubled from that point to score a good win.
High Spirit did not show much early pace and settled back in ninth place on the rails. He went through to fifth at the home turn, got to second at the 100m and battled well for second, looking suited to further still in a solid effort.
Second favourite Sold For Song was ridden quietly as usual and raced toward the tail of the 14-horse field. She fanned deep rounding the home turn and then made considerable ground to take a very good third, her come-from-behind racing style proving costly on this occasion.
Mr Individual led the field into the straight and held on for (3.4 lengths) fourth.
