Into The Red wins 2016 W.J. Healy Stakes Group 3 $175,000 at Eagle Farm (QLD), 1200m.
Into The Red began well and settled in fourth place, improved well (deep) nearing the home turn, took the lead (wide out) at the 200m and then fought back to score a narrow but solid win.
Saluter was a handy third, stuck closer to the inside part of the track at the home turn before challenging strongly at the 200m. He then battled very well for a close second.
Mogador was slow to move, was second last in the 11-horse field at the home turn and made late ground, closer to the rails, without looking dangerous to take the minor placing.
That's A Good Idea was near last to the 600m, moved up widest of all at the home turn and kept finishing well (wide out) under his top weight (59.5kg) for a sound (5.7 lengths) fourth on the Soft5 track.
