Glorious Sinndar wins 2016 Andrew Ramsden Stakes Listed $200,000 at Flemington (VIC), 3200m.
Glorious Sinndar found the rails and settled sixth with a circuit to run. Down the long back straight he hugged the rails, keeping the leaders in sight. There was no change to the order at the 1200m with Glorious Sinndar saving every inch of ground around the big Flemington bend and into the home straight then putting his head barely in front at the 400m. The Bandit edged past at that point and looked to have the upper hand at the 200m but Glorious Sinndar fought back near the fence and wore down The Bandit, levelling back at the 50m and then edging ahead in the last few strides for a tenacious win.
The Bandit was midfield, off the fence, around the bend then threaded through at the top of the straight, forging to the lead at the 300m. The first two drew clear with The Bandit looking likely only to be run down on his inner, both runners all out in a thrilling finish.
De Little Engine tracked the winner down the back, got off the fence before the last corner and followed The Bandit into the straight. He ran on well yet was never going to catch the first two, who had the finish to themselves.
