Centre Pivot wins 2015 Bernborough Qlty Listed $175,000 at Doomben (QLD), 1615m.
Blake Shinn crossed Centre Pivot from barrier nine to settle nicely in eighth place, one off the rails, following a strong pace. He moved up well, three wide with cover, nearing the home turn, sprinted quickly to challenge at the 200m and then drew away to win quite impressively.
Lordag was back in ninth place to the 600m, switched out at the 300m and made good late ground to take second.
Worthy Cause had a good trip in fifth place, between runners, but was shuffled back on turning for home. He got into clear running at the 200m and then kept running on well for third, looking suited to further.
Traveston Girl worked in the early stages to find the lead and then ran along at a good tempo. She was challenged coming to the home turn and held the lead until the 200m but tired after her early efforts for (2.7 lengths) fourth.
The favourite Hopfgarten was trapped three deep, without cover, in third place, behind a solid pace. He put in a run coming to the home turn but then faded after his difficult trip with his top weight (59kg) to finish 12th.
