Magnapal enjoyed a nice run, travelling well in fifth place, between runners. He tracked through well coming to the home turn, switched out to challenge at the 200m, hit the front at the 75m and went to the post well to score his third in succession.
Favourite The United States settled back in a midfield position before improving nicely behind runners from the 600m. He was held up for a run on turning for home, got a split at the 100m and then battled strongly for a close second.
Genuine Lad raced outside the leader (Kapour), went to the front at the 200m and battled gamely for a close-up third.
Bold Sniper raced in eighth place, one off the rails, improved (wide with cover) rounding the home turn and kept running on well in the straight for a good (1.1 lengths) fourth.
