Jetset Lad wins 2015 Evergreen Turf Brisbane Cup Group 2 $300,000 at Doomben (QLD), 2200m.
In a three-way photo finish, outsider Jetset Lad fought back to score by the narrowest of margins. He settled midfield (wide) from barrier 13 before moving up to race outside the leader from the 1200m. He went to the front on turning for home, was headed at the 50m and lifted gamely to score in the last few strides.
Sense Of Occasion had a good trip, seventh on the rails, improved (between runners) in a packing field nearing the home turn and challenged strongly at the 200m. He then kept fighting gamely for a very close second.
Epingle was tenth on the rails, made ground nicely on the inner at the home turn before ducking through a split at 100m. She took a narrow lead at the 50m and battled gamely for a close-up third.
Favourite Let's Make Adeal settled in ninth place, improved (wide) from the 800m. She was pushed very deep at the home turn and then ran on resolutely for fourth, beaten a length.
Volkhere was handily placed all the way before battling on for (1.3 lengths) fifth.
Index Linked was near the tail of the field, switched deep on straightening and kept running on quite well for (1.4 lengths) sixth while his Chris Waller-trained stablemate Moriarty disappointed. He was midfield before tracking up with cover from the 800m. He made a quick move (wide out) nearing the home turn but just battled from that point to finish ninth, beaten just over six lengths.
