Kelly O’Reilly wins 2014 Nrm/Auck. T’bred Breeders Stks Group 2 NZ$100,000 at Avondale (NZ) Fillies & Mares, 1400m.
From the coveted barrier one, Kelly O'Reilly received an economical trip three back on the inner as Goldminer worked forward to set up a genuine pace from the 1000m. Kelly O’Reillytracked into clear at the 250m and although still half a length inarrears of Moochi Me 100m out she lifted to get up on the line.
Moochi Me was suited by the keen tempo, when settling eighth,before working into the clear nicely on straightening and appearedset for victory at the 100m before Kelly O’Reilly came through to his inner.
From a handy position on the rail, Kisses improved to second rounding the home turn and fought hard for third after being in front momentarily at the 200m.
Fourth across the line, Pussy O’Reilly put in an enormous effort after being last early and was subsequently ruled a late scratching as her gate had failed to open properly at the start.
