Kratos To Fly In Stakes B Sprint

Kratos has been good to us in the past and we will be hoping for much of the same when he lines up in the Kranji Stakes B (1100m) on the Polytrack on Sunday.

The four-year-old gelding brings an impressive career record with him, winning four of his 10 starts and placing on a further five occasions.

Kratos, who will be ridden by Michael Rodd returned in good order with a handy win in a Kranji Stakes C (1000m) last start after settling on the speed and from barrier 2 he should find the lead without too much troubles today.

Despite all four win to date coming over the 1000m trip, Kratos has had the one previous outing over 1100m when running a close second to Elite Star prior to a spell indicating that whilst the 1000m is his preferred trip he is also effective over the 1100m.

Kratos secured a handy win when second up last campaign and just the 10 outings to his name is capable of making further improvement.

The son of Guillotine is one of the up and coming sprinters in Singapore and a win here certainly looks well within his grasp.

Mokastar shapes up as the main danger on the back of his last start win in a Class 3 over this C/D.

Having produce an effort that was too good to be true the start prior when not beating a runner home, the Ricardo Le Grange-trained galloper was much improved last start, settling up on the speed and proving too good for Effortless.

Mokastar has since finished third in a recent barrier trial behind Skywalk and from the wide draw expect Barend Vorster to roll forward and put plenty of pressure on Kratos up front.

The only three-year-old in the race, Mokastar is working through his grades nicely and this looks a good race for him today.

Mighty Conqueror and Elusive Emperor are two runners who come into the race off mixed form.

Both failed to make an impression last start in the same Class 2 over 1200m, however they have showed decent form in Stakes races over the sprint trips recently.

Would probably lean to Mighty Conqueror between the two who was runner up in a Stakes B over 1000m three runs back but if both runners can bring anything near there best they are certainly each way hopes in this field.

Good luck!
