Doomben will play host to more feature racing this Saturday with nine competitive races on the programme.
Tactical Advantage lines up in the first race of the day and looks well placed off a last start win in open company over this C/D.
The James Cummings-trained runner was solid enough in group and listed company prior to that effort and his recent form rates clear of his rivals today.
Has not drawn the best in barrier 13 and it will be interesting to see where he settles from there but with even luck he certainly looks the best horse in the race by some margin.
Tactical Advantage has a very good record over the 1200m trip and despite coming off a win on a heavy track he has a strong record on good tracks as well, winning 2/3 previously and the current price of $4 looks a good bet in this field.
All Over Bosanova who finished runner up to Tactical Advantage last start looks the obvious danger and will be better suited back on the good ground but Tactical Advantage has shown more ability in his career to date and with both at a similar price I am happy to side with Tactical Advantage.
Later in the programme Volatile Mix will line up in the Group 1 Queensland Derby off strong recent form.
The Darren Weir-trained runner was our each way play at $11 two weeks ago when running a narrow second and he represents terrific each way value once again.
Winning the Group 1 SA Derby two starts back (2400m), Volatile Mix made terrific ground in the Grand Prix (2200M) last start and was very unlucky to not win on that occasion, narrowly beaten by Order Again.
Drawn wide again in barrier 20 but should settle back in the field like he usually does and at $6.50 he looks a very solid each way bet in this company.
Will be interesting to see how the track is playing by race 7 and if there have been no issues with horses making ground he should put in another strong effort and be right around the mark again.
Good luck!
