Emerald City looks well placed to get punters off to a winning start when he lines up in the opening race at Eagle Farm on Saturday.
The David Vandyke has been in terrific form of late winning his last four, the most recent over this C/D after settling off the pace.
Goes up in weight off that effort but gets a much needed 2kg claim for apprentice jockey and will get a good run off the pace again from barrier 5.
Proven here at Eagle Farm on the new track, Emerald City is building an impressive career record and he certainly rates well clear of his rivals again today.
Not a great deal of speed in this small field so Emerald City won’t be too far away in the run and the current price of $2 looks a pretty good bet for a horse with his form and he can certainly make it five in a row.
The last race on the programme will see a competitive field of three-year-old fillies line up over 1200m.
Tiyatrolani was much improved last start when winning over 1000m at this course last start in good order and she goes up to the 1200m for this.
Better suited over the shorter trip but her only run over the 1200m previously came in the Group 2 Champagne Classic when fifth behind Winning Rupert, beaten 2.4L.
That form reads pretty well for this and from the good draw will push forward to settle on the speed and Jim Byrne who stays on board will give her every chance.
Best form rates well in this company and the current price of $9 looks a pretty solid each way bet for a horse with her form.
Third up now should be ready to show her best and would expect her to be right in the finish once again.
Good Luck!
