The Team Williams trained Heart Starter came a long way last preparation and appears more than capable of sprinting well fresh in the last race at Bunbury on Saturday.
Only lightly raced the son of Domesday is the half-sister to talented mare Real Love and is a winner of three of his eight starts to this point.
The fact he lines up over 1400m first up suggests they may test him beyond a mile again, however he is obviously more than capable of sprinting well fresh.
Stablemate Chocolate Holic is obviously flying so the fact Pike sticks with Heart Starter is as good a push as any. With two trials under his belt Heart Starter should be forward enough to perform well and at the weights he is very well placed when assessing Timeform weight adjusted ratings.
Heart Starter has never missed the money over this trip and has placed in all three attempts at this track. The wide draw is a concern however as a result we are getting decent odds about his chances.
As much as 3-1 is being offered early doors and given we have him marked closer to a 2-1 chance, there is a big enough edge to back him to beat his stablemate.Obviously no knock on Chocolate Holic but at the odds more than happy to side with Heart Starter.
The Daniel Morton trained Saul's Special displayed above average ability during his maiden preparation and looks to set a decent standard in the seventh event.
Only seen three times as a two-year-old, Saul's Special placed on all three occasions and boasts a close second placing behind talented filly Whispering Brook in the Sires' Produce Stakes. His sole trial in the lead up was solid enough and he should prove very hard to beat from the favourable draw.
