A solid meeting in Adelaide as we head onto the Parks track this Saturday.
Our first bet is the renewed Stimulatte who made amends for a problem in the Balaklava Cup to win the Halidon Cup two weeks ago.
The key to this horse is simple. He takes a couple of runs to work into a preparation but once he does he holds the form which often co-incides with distances beyond a mile.
He has won three times on this particular track with a couple at this distance too.
The 5yo gelding can work straight to the front and control it or worse get a lovely trail. We might get some nice odds too.
Onto Race 7 where Just For Starters looks well placed.
He was well liked two weeks ago over 1200m on the main track and was only defeated by the improving Northern Zhar.
That horse took a split that Just For Starters wasn’t going quickly enough for but once out, finished at the same speed as the winner.
From this wide barrier he can fire out under the apprentice, sit outside lead and control it. The 1400m looks like suiting his style too as he might be more a grinder than showing turn of foot.
