Furbish will look to build on his easy first up win at Scone last start when stepping out at the Gold Coast on Saturday.
The Allan Denham-trained runner (Race 4 #1) finished down the track to the likes of Almalad and Brazen Beau in group company last campaign before running out a 4.5L winner at Scone over 1100m last start.
Furbish is likely to improve on that effort up in trip today to 1400m and despite drawing wide in barrier 11 looks a cut above his competition today.
Jim Byrne has a good record on the horse having won two of five and goes back on board today.
Would expect the three-year-old gelding to be winning this on his way to some bigger races this preparation.
Miss Cover Girl looks the main danger having returned to racing in good order this campaign but not sure she can measure up to Furbish.
Later in the day Abu Ben Adam (Race 8 #7) will look to build on a last start win at Doomben over 1350m and looks a good each way chance in this field.
Resuming effort was poor but he rarely fires fresh and from three previous third up efforts has placed on both occasions albeit in easier company but the current price of $9 looks to be overs.
The slight step up in trip to 1400m should suit and Michael Cahill to stay on board after riding the Pat Duff-trained runner to victory last start.
With only 54.5kg to carry in this would expect the four-year-old gelding to be hitting the line strongly and the scratching of Lauterbrunnen will make things even easier.
Last week sae the beat of the day Queen Of The Lochs run third whilst the each way play Gundy Spirit ran a very narrow second at decent each way odds.
