Sansui Drawing Art In Motion

A soft first up maiden success suggests the penny has dropped for Sansui Drawing who possesses much appeal in the final race at Hawkesbury on Thursday.

The David Vandyke-trained galloper resumed over 1400m at Nowra last start where he recorded a clinical success.

Sitting up on the speed, Sansui Drawing was a class above his rivals on that occasion as a two length win ensued.

Sansui Drawing now rises in class and distance for Thursday’s Aust. PGA Seniors C’ship Benchmark 65 (1800m) at Hawkesbury.

The Excellent Art gelding has long shown ability and profiles well in the final event of the Hawkesbury program.

His first up success returned a Timeform figure of 75, nine pounds shy of Sansui Drawing’s current master figure.

It suggests the four-year-old has plenty of scope for improvement and will admittedly need that returning to provincial company.

In his favour though is the distance rise, a beautiful inside barrier and added fitness second up.

Blake Shinn staying aboard after winning on Sansui Drawing at Nowra could also be considered an encouraging lead.

Expect the pair to take up a forward position from their inside barrier and be prominent throughout.

Zabeiro appears the main danger after breaking maiden status at Hawkesbury over the mile last start and like with Sansui Drawing, with Blake Shinn in the saddle.

The Bernardini gelding has improved with each run this campaign and was far too strong for his rivals.

The run yielded the gelding a new master Timeform figure of 77, a pound clear of his previous best.

Fourth up, there still should be scope for improvement rising to 1800m.

The Stephen Farley-trained White Devon is another who is coming to hand nicely this campaign.

White Devon drops back from midweek city company here after a respectable fifth at Warwick Farm.

The effort actually has the mare on top in this field on 50 day Timeform figures and possesses each way claims.

Bit Of A Hero comes out of the same race and also stays under notice with John Kissick’s 2kg claim bringing him in nicely at the weights.

Overall though, Sansui Drawing appears the most progressive type in this field and at his current $3.50 quote, looks the way to go in Thursday’s Aust. PGA Seniors Championship Benchmark 65 Handicap (1800m).
