Best From The West

The Adam Durrant trained Ora Dare proved very impressive when making the sharp step up in grade at Belmont last start and no reason to say he won't notch up the hat-trick on Saturday.

Continuing to show sharp improvement when tried over further the lightly raced Ora Dare has really emphasised Durrant's great ability to get the best out of his staying types.

In six starts prior to his maiden victory Ora Dare had never really threatened the judge however when Durrant pushed him to make the jump from 1600m to 2200m the son of Oratorio proved ultra impressive when saluting by three lengths at Northam in very quick time.

Proceeding to step him up to mid-week company last start the four-year-old again proved very impressive when coming from near the tail of the field to sprint quickly down the outside and prove the better of his sole challenger Battle Ace, when edging him out in the shadows of the post.

While his task on Saturday is an obvious rise in class he still appears very well placed on weight adjusted ratings and given he does have the scope for further improvement he appears a great betting prospect.

Currently installed a $2.35 chance across the boards may seem short however we have him rated closer to an even money chance and will be more than happy to take any price above that mark.

While easily one of the toughest races of the day we are prepared to stick with the in-form Rose Of Choice in the final race of the day.

Another galloper who is chasing a hat-trick of wins on Saturday, the daughter of Choisir really impressed here last start when hitting the line strongly, which in the end despite the margin was a fairly soft kill.

In what was her fifth victory from 10 career starts she has continued to show good improvement this time in and is clearly on an upward spiral.

Having never missed the money at this track and trip along with coming into the race as the highest rated galloper on weight adjusted figures she presents a great betting proposition at her current quote of 7-2.

The Adam Durrant trained Keepers Court was impressive when saluting here last start when upstaging the in-form When We Were Kings however he does appear a risk at his current quote.

Rising four kilograms from his last start victory does see him rated fifth overall on weight adjusted ratings and more notably he is suspect at the mile having never saluted over the journey in four previous attempts.

We have Young Lionel, True Gold and The Alleged rated as stronger winning hopes and will be more than happy to take on Keepers Court at his current quote.
