Matt Kuchar carded a second-straight 64 on Saturday to take a one-shot lead at the Wyndham Championship and keep his FedEx Cup play-off hopes alive.

The American picked up six birdies without dropping a shot to improve to 12 under at Sedgefield Country Club in North Carolina.

With the top 70 in the standings at the tournament's end advancing to the FedEx Cup play-offs, Kuchar needs a victory to qualify for the postseason.

He is the only player on the Tour to qualify for every play-off stage in FedEx Cup history.

The American trio of Max Greyserman, Cameron Young and Chad Ramey trail Kuchar by one, with Greyserman carding a 10 under 60 after leaving his putt for 59 at the last 18 inches short.

England's Aaron Rai is a shot further back, alongside Billy Horschel and overnight leader Beau Hossler.

The second round will resume at 6.45am on Sunday after wet weather severely hampered play on Thursday and Friday, with 20 players unable to finish their rounds on Saturday before play was suspended.
