Chris Scholtz - Early Thoughts
R&S Contributing Editor Chris Scholtz takes a look at tomorrow’s Sydney racing.
SELECTIONS
The important scratchings in this race give this mare her chance to win whether the track is good or worse. However she is absolutely deadly on a damper surface.
She lapped up the mile and a half on Cup day at Randwick, storming to victory and this race is not much harder.
Rosehill Race 7 - 13 La Speciale
Has shown plenty of talent in her five starts for two wins and two placings. Should have made it three wins at her last start when she finished an unlucky third over 1300m at Randwick after she was held up.
Found the line like she will eat up the 1400m of this event with a 2kg weight drop to 55kg giving her an edge on her rivals.
Rosehill Race 8 - 14 Rule The River
Drawn as the first emergency but will give this a big shake if she gains a start after impressive first-up win over 1100m at Canterbury at just her fourth start.
That win stamped her as a mare with plenty to offer as she recorded the fastest last 800m of the day and her stable is delighted with the way she has progressed since the win.
This field is stacked with speed that should help her get a kind run from an awkward gate.
