SELECTIONS

Rosehill Race 2 - 1 Law

Quality 3YO has won twice first-up and even with 59kg is well placed to add to that record in this company that is a long way below his best Group form.

Had plenty to offer in two recent soft trials that have him primed to hit the line strongly in a race packed with pace. Couldn’t get a better rider than Hugh Bowman to take full advantage of his favourable draw.

Rosehill Race 3 - 3 Avoid Lightning

Keen to see this mare take on Catkins first-up with a 1.5kg weight advantage from the inside draw with the rail out 6 metres.

She boasts a terrific record, especially when fresh, and proved she in the top echelon of mares with her third in the G1 Tatts Tiara last June when she was giving weight to the winner Cosmic Endeavour. She’s been excellent in two recent trials and any rain boosts her prospects.

Rosehill Race 8 - 10 Black Revolver

Ready to produce back on his favoured home track at his third run off a spell after covering ground and working to the line over 1400m at Randwick last Saturday.

This race is a perfect fit as he’s a winner over this trip and boasts a win and two placings in similar class when backing up within seven days. Should enjoy the serious pace in this field from the rails draw.

BLACKBOOK UPDATE from 14 February (Randwick & Caulfield)

First Seal - Terrific first-up effort. Outstanding filly.

Lucia Valentina - Hard to miss her excellent return. Set for a big Autumn.

Mahara - Big improver off her resuming effort.

Sampeah - Certain to benefit from first Melbourne experience.

Chester Road - Luckless. Hard to beat in his right class.
