NEW SOUTH WALES

SR 1: The quality of the Sydney 2yo races is improving with top stables rolling out some good types for their debuts. Peter Snowden sets a poser with three first starters led by (4) LIMES who beat race rivals (3) FAUSTUS and stablemate (2) AUGUSTE in his 800m heat at Warwick Farm on 31 October with the winner clearly making the best impression. (5) SOLEMN is his interesting one coming to Sydney off a third in a Cranbourne trial on 17 October, which is not the usual program for one of his youngsters. Gai Waterhouse will keep them all honest with (7) KUCHINSKAYA after a sharp Randwick trial win over 734m on 21 October. The stable has their 2yos flying and this filly is rated with their other recent winners.

SR 5: (5) SEA LORD and (8) REGAL BANTER will be all the better for their placings behind Red Tracer in a 1030m heat at Rosehill on 25 October. Both boast good fresh records. (6) FITNESS FANATIC usually trials well and did so again when second over 850m on the Kensington track at Randwick last Friday. (10) RUMOUR AND SCANDAL won his heat over the same distance on the same day in similar time.

SR 6: Good country mare (9) LYCRA LASS looks well prepared off to strong Wagga trials, wining her latest by four lengths over 1000m. (8) GILDED SPUR was open to improvement on fourth in his Randwick trial over 1250m last Friday.

VICTORIA

MR 1-2 DIFFERING FORTUNES (Gai Waterhouse): Ones of Gai's who has trialled in Melbourne and this well bred colt (full to Cheeky Choice whom she trained to win a Flight Stks) has had two trials to be ready here.

MR 1-7 COINS (Peter Snowden): The well named filly (Hard Spun/Monetary) comes off a Cranbourne trial win in a small field. Their 2yos are flying again like last season and she might just be another one off the assembly line.

MR 1-11 VITAL (Peter Snowden): Another of the production from Peter Snowden but this time from this leading sire Lonhro. She also won a trial at Cranbourne.

QUEENSLAND

Both BR 2-4 AVANCE (Noel Doyle) and BR 2-5 DEFAULT (Harold Norman) come out of the same trial at the Gold Coast on 11 October. They were third and second respectively in that educational preparation.

SOUTH AUSTRALIA

SA TRIALLERS RACING INTERSTATE: MR 1-4 MAXIMUS MOONARD (Tony McEvoy): With the Adelaide stable going so well with their youngsters, this colt was easy in a trial at Morphettville leading into this. One to watch.
