FOXSTAR (Guy Walter) - Showed plenty of talent last preparation with a sequence of wins and made a nice return at Rosehill last Saturday over an unsuitable distance. This Galileo mare will be at her best up to 2000m so look for her when she gets up in trip.

Jason Hickson

ST GERMAINE (John Sargent) - Has been honest in her two Australian runs, the latest hitting the line hard in the Dane Ripper Stakes and finishing fifth. Will be even fitter again and can win a second tier race over the Winter Carnival - if not this week then maybe on Tatts day or at Caloundra.

'Aspro'

VALDHEZ (Kim Waugh) - Showed good character when successful on debut at Canterbury over what should prove an unsuitable trip for this son of High Chaparral. Caught up in the hustle and bustle early on and checked at the 600m, he was able to find his feet and push through along the rails to win. Looks to have a top attitude and should continue to progress through the grades in more suitable races.

Alex Steedman

SOUND OF THE OCEAN (John McNair) - Hay List's half-brother who in his debut on Thursday broke maiden status at Gosford over 1100m. The Delzao gelding settled fifth before he hit the lead in the shadows of the post. It was also the first race win in Australia for Brazilian born jockey Diego Lima. Sound Of The Ocean may not be of Hay List's quality but it will be interesting to see just how far through the grades he can rise.

Wayne Bristow

LISTEN SON (Tony Gollan) - Has toughed it out twice now on pace only to swamped late by the swoopers. Both Woorim and Varenna Miss have come from the rear and all the others near the speed have dropped out but this 4yo has tenaciously tried to keep going. While he runs in the Stradbroke, you would think a race like the Eye Liner will suit him down to the ground.

DELEGATOR (Saeed bin Suroor) - Flies fresh but importantly is being tried as a sprinter assuming he goes to the Golden Jubilee. Had very good mile form as a youngster (including a second to Sea The Stars in the 2000 Guineas and close up in the St James's Palace at Ascot). Scored over the sprints first up and must be a great chance on the last day of the royal meeting.
