The Canberra Racing Club, in conjunction with Project Supercars, are delighted to reveal that the purpose-built exhibition circuit has been fully commissioned with works and testing now complete.

“It was a wonderful moment for our team.” Project Supercars Director Peter Bakavgas said. “To see this vision come  to life is electrifying and we can’t wait to get these special cars on it at speed.”

“Thoroughbred Park will transform this week with the European food village, trade stalls and entertainment precincts for all ages to create a true festival with European flare.”

Some highlights include a Formula 1 LC88, current V8 Supercar driven by local hero Cam Hill, two S5000 racers and  some of Adrian Portelli’s elite special vehicles.

Icons from all the great marques will be represented with Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche all presenting a  chronological display showing the evolution of the supercar.

Honouring motorsport vehicles from a golden area, the Historic Sports and Racing Car Association (HSRCA) will have  a great presence at the Canberra Festival of Speed with an Original Formula 2 Brabham BT35 and Alan Moffat’s XY GT amongst their entrants.

“These are some of the most sought-after cars in the world, some of them are very rarely seen in public, let alone in  our backyard right here in Canberra.” Bakavgas said.

“We will provide a full integrated AV experience and the wonderful hospitality Thoroughbred Park is famous for.”

Tickets start from just $39.80 for the Sunday session. On Saturday, gates open from 4pm with the event under lights  while Sunday is from 9am until 4pm.
