The was the Chief Executive's Cup Cl. 1 where Purton was riding the favourite Ka Ying Rising who defied his top weight and put in a top performance to win from Beauty Waves and Superb Capitalist, the early leader.

The Cl. 2 1400m was won by Chiu Chow Spirit from Superb Boy (an afternoon for the Superbs with Superb Capitalist placing in the Gl 1) and Karma third.
