Tip Of The Day: 5th November 2024

Sam King returns with two selections on Tuesday afternoon…

Today's horse racing tips.

Redcar is where we head our first selection, and I was surprised to see Glendown as big as 8/1 when looking at the early prices for the Redcar Racecourse Supports RBL Poppy Appeal Handicap (2.34).

Tim Easterby's four-year-old hasn't been setting the world alight in recent starts, but he did show a bit more when steadily keeping on into fourth over five furlongs at Pontefract last month.

A course and distance winner on soft ground off 7lb higher this time last year, he also drops to Class 6 company (from Class 4) for the first time since winning a six-furlong handicap at Ripon back in July 2023.

Amie Waugh knows the horse well enough and takes off a valuable 3lb and it surely won't be too long until we see Glendown double his tally for the season now he's back below his last winning mark.

WIN - Glendown

Odds – 8/1

Later on the card, Ey Up Its Jazz makes plenty of appeal in the Jumps Free Trial On Racing TV Handicap at 3.09.

He posted an excellent effort when second from 2lb out the weights in a Class 4 handicap at Doncaster ten days ago and it looks like he may be able to dominate this tactically.

It can pay to be on the front end when racing on soft ground at Redcar late in the season and from a good draw in stall five, this habitual front-runner should have no problems with adopting a prominent early position.

Fresh off landing one of Australia's biggest races for boss William Haggas, Cieren Fallon gets on board for the first time, and I wouldn't be surprised to see the pair strike up an immediate relationship.

WIN - Ey Up Its Jazz

Odds – 11/4
