Hamish heads a field of six for the Group 2 Princess of Wales’s Stakes, the feature race on day one of the July Festival.
Paddy Power has installed the William Haggas-trained Hamish as 6/4 favourite for the twelve furlong contest following a brave second in the Group 1 Coronation Stakes, ahead of Arrest, who produced a better performance when runner-up in the Group 3 Ormonde Stakes at Chester. Marco Bottis Giavellotto returns to a shorter distance after back-to-back victories in the Group 2 Yorkshire Cup whilst Time Lock could show improved form with the cheekpieces removed.
Elsewhere on Thursday's competitive card, the Group 2 July Stakes has attracted a small but exciting field of juveniles with Aidan O'Brien's Whistlejacket aiming to get back on the winning thread following a disappointing run at Royal Ascot. He will face the unbeaten Ain't Nobody, from the Kevin Ryan yard, who justified market support with a success in the Listed Windsor Castle Stakes at the Royal meeting and takes the step up to six furlongs for the first time.
