The popular eleven-year-old enjoyed his biggest day in the sun when making all the running to land the 2020 King George VI Chase under regular rider Bryony Frost, who will continue to look after Frodon throughout his retirement.

Frost partnered Frodon to eleven of the horse's nineteen victories under rules with the pair enjoying a number of memorable days, including when beating Galvin in the Champion Chase at Down Royal on his seasonal reappearance in 2021.

The Paul Vogt-owned Bay enjoyed a prolific campaign in the 2018-2019 seasons with Frodon failing to enter the winners' enclosure just once from his five outings. Frost claimed 3lb off his back when winning the Old Roan Handicap Chase on his seasonal reappearance at Aintree, before the pair would go on to dual Cheltenham glory in the Grade 2 Cotswold Chase and Grade 1 Ryanair Chase at the Festival in March.

Speaking to Betfair, Paul Nicholls said: "He's been a fantastic horse and won so many different races for us. He's been an amazing servant since joining us as a three-year-old and he will have a wonderful home with Bryony down on Exmoor along with Black Corton.

"I wouldn't mind a few more like him. He's finishing in one piece and it's the right thing to do. I'm sure Bryony will have a lot of fun with him."

Frodon retired from racing having amassed a total of £1.17 million in prize-money.
