Jim Crowley is looking forward to renewing his partnership with multiple Group 1 winner Mostahdaf in the Breeders’ Cup Turf at Santa Anita.
Shadwell's retained jockey was unable to take the ride on Mostahdaf for the Group 1 Juddmonte International due to a whip suspension, but has ridden the five-year-old in his other three outings this season.
Frankie Dettori was an able substitute at York and the pair made all for a one length success, ahead of stablemate Nashwa and Aidan O'Brien's Paddington.
Mostahdaf was rerouted to the Breeders' Cup Turf after being withdrawn prior to the Group 1 Champions Stakes, due to worsening ground conditions.
"The first time I've sat on him here was this morning and I'm very happy with the way he felt. He moved great in an easy canter for a circuit. He will probably go a little bit quicker tomorrow," said Crowley.
"He was very well behaved and behaves himself better when he's abroad than at home.
"He has plenty of pace, and you can park him up anywhere. I'm very confident."
Mostahdaf is currently second favourite at 11/4 behind Auguste Rodin for Saturday's Breeders' Cup Turf.
