Born To Rock handed Queen Mary assignment following seaside success

Jane Chappel-Hyam saddled yet another exciting juvenile prospect as Born To Rock rocked her way into Queen Mary contention following an emphatic display at Yarmouth this afternoon.

Racecourse : Great Yarmouth (Great Britain)

Having jumped smartly she was always prominent towards the far side and the daughter of Soldier's Call could be seen travelling better than most approaching the two furlong pole. One by one her rivals began to come off the bridle and she quickened up smartly to put a widening four-and-a-quarter-lengths between herself and the Gosden-trained favourite, Jiwin. Michael Bell's Mirroring finished a further three-quarters of a length behind in third while George Boughey's Mantra caught the eye finishing strongly for fourth following a tardy start.

When asked by Sky Sports Racing's Matt Chapman. Have you ever had a better two-year-old winner first-time-out than that? Jane Chappel-Hyam replied: "Probably not. She's good isn't she. She worked with the horse in the previous race [El Bodon finished second] and with the colt that won at Newmarket last week. They've all been thereabouts together but she's turned it on this afternoon."

"We'll have to go for the fillies' race over five furlongs [Queen Mary]. Yep definitely."

"She's been really good at home. She came from the breeze-ups. I said to Lawrence [owner] who wanted a horse for Ascot. I said you're going to have to dig deep and pay a little bit more than normal and so he did. We're thrilled. She's done it good."

"I've got good support from owners, and I appreciate them buying nice horses and it makes the job easier for the staff and myself."

Owner Lawrence Holder added: "It's a great enjoyable day out for the family. To have your own horses racing and winning is just something else. Winning the way they've been winning is pretty good. It's fantastic we knew from the breeze-up she was quick. She moves well."

Paddy Power were seemingly impressed and go 10/1 for the Queen Mary.
