Karl Burke's filly struck twice at Group One level last season, landing the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot and the Sprint Cup at Haydock.

This season has not gone so smoothly, however, with the daughter of Showcasing well beaten on her return in the Temple Stakes at Haydock in May and she had not been seen in competitive action since.

The four-year-old was the 5-2 favourite for this Group Three test and travelled powerfully in the hands of Martin Harley.

For a moment it looked as though she could be all dressed up with nowhere to go, but when the gap came, Quiet Reflection went through the gears in fine style and passed the post two and three-quarter lengths ahead of Alphabet.

Burke was completing a Group-race double on the card following Ellthea's triumph in the C.L. & M.F. Weld Park Stakes.

Paddy Power cut Quiet Reflection to 8-1 from 16-1 for the Qipco British Champions Sprint at Ascot on October 21 and Burke is relishing a clash with this year's July Cup and Sprint Cup hero Harry Angel, who is the 6-4 favourite.

Burke said: "We had to take our time with her and it's just a shame that things didn't go right early on (in the year).

"Hopefully she comes out of this well and roll on four weeks for Ascot. If the ground comes up soft she will give Harry Angel a race.

"On soft ground this filly is very good and she can only sharpen up for that run. Win, lose or draw she has been an absolute star for us, and it's just great to get her back.

"She heads to Tattersalls in December. That's where she'll go after Ascot.

"We will be able to float her into Ascot now. We won't have to push her at all and can give her a nice easy week or two and then pick her up for a week or so.

"She has a great temperament and has been a pleasure to be around."
