Last year's winner Integral is one of 12 remaining possibles in the Duke of Cambridge Stakes at Royal Ascot on Wednesday.
Sir Michael Stoute's mare took on the boys on her seasonal reappearance in the Lockinge when she finished fourth to Night Of Thunder.
Stoute could also run Bragging, who was impressive in the Dahlia Stakes but a big disappointment next time out at York.
Clive Brittain's Rizeena, a winner at the meeting next year, is likely to step back down in trip.
Lightning Thunder was placed in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket and at the Curragh last year for Olly Stevens, but if she runs she would be on something of a retrieval mission.
"We've kept her in to have a look and we'll have a better idea of what's likely to run from this afternoon," said Stevens.
"Just looking at the probable runners, on her day she's beaten most of them.
"She obviously hasn't won a race since she was a two-year-old and she was horribly disappointing at Lingfield, but she's definitely got a bit more about her at home than she did before that race.
"There aren't many options for her."
The sole overseas possible is Cladocera, trained by Alain de Royer-Dupre.
Odeliz, Bold Lass, Euro Charline, Evita Peron, Wee Jean, Amazing Maria and Sighora complete the list.
As expected, Brooch was an absentee with the Pretty Polly Stakes a likely target,.
