Botti on Boistron weather watch

Marco Botti will be anxiously watching the skies above Ascot in the hope they deliver some rain ahead of Tac De Boistron's planned return in the Longines Sagaro Stakes on Wednesday.

The eight-year-old has got better with age, but he has run as many times outside of Britain as he has at home due to his liking for soft ground.

When he gets his conditions, though, he is just about the best stayer around, as his two wins in the Prix Royal-Oak prove.

Unless the ground eases, however, he will have to wait before making his seasonal reappearance.

Botti has also declared Seismos, who was last seen finishing ninth in the Melbourne Cup.

"We definitely need rain for Tac, we won't risk him if the ground stays as it is," said Botti.

"The rain is forecast to come tomorrow morning so let's hope it does.

"As long as there is a shower, Seismos will run.

"Both of them have had the same preparation and this has been their target for some time so it will be a shame if they have to miss it.

"If the rain doesn't come, the options we have for Tac are the Yorkshire Cup or a Group Two at Longchamp at the end of May.

"He won this last year but he has to carry a penalty again, it didn't stop him last year though.

"He's a tough old horse and the last two seasons we have had with him have been fantastic winning two Prix Royal-Oaks and finishing second in the Cadran.

"He has just really improved these last two seasons on soft ground and seems in great form.

"Seismos ran respectably in the Melbourne Cup on ground which was a bit quick.

"He's probably not at the same level as Tac, but he'll win nice races again."

James Fanshawe's High Jinx was a length behind Tac De Boistron in the Royal-Oak and takes him on again.

Sir Mark Prescott's Pallasator and the John Gosden duo of Deuce Again and Forever Now are also engaged.

Godolphin are represented by Hidden Gold, third to Mymatechris on All Weather Finals Day

"Hidden Gold ran well to finish third on her latest start and has been in good form lately," Saeed bin Suroor told www.godolphin.com.

"She stays two miles well and I am hopeful of another good run, although this looks a tougher race for her."
