UK: Pink Shows Her True Colours

Tenacious filly Tickled Pink landed the Group Three Coral Charge for Tom Queally and Lady Cecil at Sandown Park.

The 5-2 favourite, out of Trevor Stewart's Royal Ascot winner Cassandra Go, is clearly as speedy as her mother and seemed to relish the drop down to a five-furlong trip.

Queally was challenged for the lead by Mince, who looked about to get on top, but the grey forced her head back in front and was able to hold off Kingsgate Native's late challenge by a length.

Stewart said: "She has all the traits of Cassandra Go. We tried her over six furlongs, but she shows an awful lot of speed, so the drop back to five worked. We'd like to go for the King George at Goodwood, then on to the Nunthorpe."

John Gosden's stayer Caucus (13-8 favourite) refused to allow Biographer to go past him in the Coral Marathon.

"He was very brave, he didn't know how to give up," the trainer said.

"All being well, we'll try him in the Goodwood Cup now."
