UK: Easy For Schiaparelli In France

Godolphin inmate Schiaparelli had little trouble following up his Goodwood Cup triumph with an impressive display in the Darley Prix Kergorlay at Deauville.

Frankie Dettori sent the 1-5 favourite straight to the head of affairs after leaving the stalls in the one-mile-seven-furlong contest - and the result never looked in any doubt.

Once Dettori pushed the button after making the turn into the home straight, his mount quickly put distance between himself and his rivals, beating Mojave Moon with ease, while the only other runner, Candy Gift, was third.

Godolphin racing manager Simon Crisford said: "The horse had plenty of entries, but this looked an easy target so we decided to come here - although the ground was a little quick for him.

"He was second in the Prix Foy last year to Zambezi Sun, so we'll look at taking him back to Longchamp for that race.

"There is also the Grosser Preis von Baden, but that comes a week earlier and is just a fortnight from this race."
