Following winners at Southwell and Wolverhampton yesterday, Sam King returns with two selections for you on Tuesday…
We go to Lingfield for our first selection and Warren Hill looks interesting enough in the Safer Gambling Week 2024 At BetUK Handicap (1.10).
A winner of a division of this handicap twelve months ago, Roger Varian will surely have had this race in mind for some time for the daughter of No Nay Never.
Roger Varian's filly had been off for two months before shaping as though she'd take a sizeable step forward when fifth in a nine-and-a-half-furlong handicap at Wolverhampton 31 days ago and a 1lb drop in the weights will do no harm.
The Newmarket-based handler has been in good form in recent weeks, posting an impressive 29% (4-14) strike-rate over the last fourteen days. Top jockey James Doyle gets onboard for the first time and with a good draw to work from in stall three, she looks fair value at the current prices to get back to winning ways.
WIN - Warren Hill
Odds – 3/1
Later on the card, Professor Tickle appears to have solid claims of landing the Safer Gambling Tools At BetMGM Handicap (3.25).
Trainer David Loughnane is 3-8 with his runners over the last fortnight and his previous course winner Professor Tickle looks to have every chance of bolstering those figures this afternoon.
A comfortable winner of a similar handicap at this venue off just 2lb higher in December, Professor Tickle was having his first outing since August when third over six furlongs here off this rating six days ago.
That effort should have put him spot on for this and although it represents a step up to Class 5 company, David Loughnane's gelded son of Profitable can prove equal to the task.
WIN - Professor Tickle
Odds – 10/3
