Racing and Sports finds the best-backed runners in early betting on Friday’s meeting at Geelong.

Pure Emotion (Race 1) has been a big go in the opener, starting well into double figures odds but firming more than 10 points to $3.50. The filly resumes and when first up last campaign was second to subsequent Golden Slipper placegetter Tulip at Moonee Valley.

Our Gladiator (Race 4) opened well into each way odds but has been backed into favouritism at $3.50 having more than halved her initial quote. The filly resumes and has a win and a city placing from two previous first up runs.

Essence Of Terror (Race 7) is now the joint favourite at $3.20 having firmed the best part of a point in early trading. She was far from disgraced when fifth at Caulfield last start and had placed at her three previous runs, two of those in the city.
