Racing and Sports finds the best-backed runners in early betting on Thursday’s meeting at Sale.

Mightiest (Race 1) is a well-supported favourite at $2.20, in 60 cents on his initial price. The gelding goes jumping off some good flat form with three successive second placings and a solid last-start effort in town.

Tycoon Felix (Race 6) is another popular favourite at $3.10 after shortening the best part of a point. He was a very close third at Moe last start and has a good record at this distance.

Windbern (Race 9) opened well into each way odds but is now the favourite at $3 after firming a full five points. She has improved with each run this time in and should be race fit now after a very close third in town last start.
