Racing and Sports finds the best-backed runners in early betting on Wednesday’s meeting at Sandown.

Kedleston (Race 2) is second pick in the betting and at $3 has closed the gap on the favourite after firming a half point. The colts has placed at his last two city runs after running fourth in a stakes race on debut and has the experience edge on this field.

Dusty Jack (Race 4) has been backed into the red at $1.70 after a good go that has seen him shorten more than a point and a quarter since betting opened. The lightly raced five-year-old has won two of four starts including his last run at Cranbourne and should be at peak fitness third up.

Private Lounge (Race 7) has taken over as the favourite at $3.80 after as much as $6 was available early on. The filly looks progressive winning at Echuca on debut then running third here on the Hillside track last start.
