Recife Beach (Race 1) is challenging for favouritism at $3 having shortened more than a point and a half since betting commenced. The Lim Waugh-trained gelding hasn’t been too far away in the city at his past twos starts and is better placed at this level having won in open company at Scone before that.

Absolute Ripper (Race 3) has tightened her grip on favouritism at $2.70 having shortened 30 cents on opening prices. The mare is racing well, winning first up at Orange then missing by a nose in a Highway Handicap at Rosehill last start.

Jaxim (Race 4) could be worth an each way ticket at $7, a massive eight points shorter than his first quote. The three year-old has only raced once, finishing midfield at Gosford at big odds but the market push suggests he can improve plenty.
