Racing and Sports finds the best-backed runners in early betting on Friday’s meeting at Donald.

Sauternes (Race 2) opened well into each way odds but has been backed into favouritism at $3, which is about four and a half points shorter than her first quote. She finishes down the track when resuming but had consistent form last campaign and they money suggests she has improved plenty second up.

Life's A Gamble (Race 3) is another to take over at the top of the market at $3.10 after as much as $6 was available early on. He has run top four in his three starts to date and was only beaten 0.6L when third at Murtoa last time.

Our Elliott (Race 8) opened well into double figures but has halved his quote to $7.50 so may well be worth an each way ticket. He was close up at Cranbourne last start and won his only previous visit to this track.
