The Money Trail - Wyong, September 13

Racing and Sports finds the best-backed runners in early betting on Tuesday’s meeting at Wyong.

Postmaster General (Race 1) has been well backed early and has firmed two full points to $2.70. The lightly-raced gelding is on the improve, coming off a good second at Goulburn last time when favourite and looks open to further progression.

Wirnpa (Race 4) has tightened his grip on favouritism at $2.60 after firming nearly a full point since markets opened. The John O’Shea-trained colt has started only once when a second to a promising one in the city and should be improved with that run under the belt.

The Gavel (Race 7) has been backed into an odds on quote at $1.85, about 40 cents shorter than his initial quote. He comes into this with the highest last start Timeform rating, achieved when a close second at Goulburn, and has been top four in all five of his career starts.
