The 2YO Jackofall (Mastercraftsman x Wizard Princess by Rory’s Jester) overcame the outside gate to win the 1200m race for trainer Lisa Latta and is now heading for a start in the Karaka Million at Ellerslie in January, a race Latta won in 2011 with Fort Lincoln.

“This horse has a bit more ability than Fort Lincoln,” Latta said “We will put him in the paddock for a couple of weeks now and maybe give him one lead-up race.”

Jackofall, a $34,000 buy from the NZB Select Yearling Sale, has now raced four times for two wins.

His dam Wizard Princess is a dual winning half sister to the G1 Flight Stakes winner Cheeky Choice (Redoute’s Choice) and the stakes placed Prost (Show A Heart).

His third dam Lady Of Persia (Persian Bold), won three Listed races in France and is the dam of five winners including Danasia (Danehill), the stakes winning dam of Rosehill Guineas winner Zabrasive (Zabeel).

Mastercraftsman (Danehill Dancer) shuttles from Coolmore in Ireland to New Zealand’s Windsor Park Stud.

He has enjoyed a great run start in the northern hemisphere with 28 first crop winners this year led by GI winner Kingston Hill, G3 winners Craftsman and Amazing Maria and stakes-winner Pablosky.
