Hallmark Stud has seen one of its foundation families produce some prolific performers on the track in recent seasons with progeny from Miss Distinction proving to be highly talented performers.
Bletchencore mare Miss Distinction is the dam of the dual G1 winnere Gee I Jane (Jahafil) who won the G1 Telegraph Handicap at TRentham and the G1 BTC Cup at Doomben in Australia in 2006.
She is also the dam of Miss Jessie Jay (Spectacularphantom), a G3 winner, who in turn is the dam of the Champion 2YO Banchee (Oratorio) and Champion 3YO Katie Lee (Pins).
The 2011 Karaka Premier Sale saw Hallmark Stud sell a filly by Darci Brahma from Miss Distinction which was purchased by Connolly Bloodstock for $625,000.
Karaka 2012 will see the stud offer 25 yearlings including a half-brother to Singapore's Champion Filly Mexican Rose (Volksraad) by Stravinsky from the Gone West mare Down View and a half-brother to Gee I Jane by High Chaparral from Miss Distinction.
Westbury Stud has a large draft of 115 entries at Karaka 2012 with 30 in the Karaka Premier Sale.
Westbury has seen two yearlings receive significant pedigree updates from New Year's Day racing with their dams Make Me Strong and Countess Zoya being half-sisters to Atomic Force who won the G1 Railway Stakes at Ellerslie.
