The Doncaster Bloodstock St Leger Festival yearling sale ended with figures on par with last year.
The average of 9966 pounds was down only 680 pounds on the 2010 sale with the median (8000 pounds) and clearance rate (67%) equivalent to 12 months ago.
The top lot was a Sleeping Indian filly out of the stakes placed Vale Of Belvoir sold for 35,000 pounds to trainer Kevin Ryan while a Bahamian Bounty colt from the G3 winner Lady Dominatrix went for 31,000 pounds.
'The Festival Sale continued where last week's Premier Sales left off with a solid trade for the good looking yearlings,” DBS Managing Director Henry Beeby said.
“To record an identical clearance rate from a bigger number is an achievement in itself and the median has also held steady following a 33% rise last year.
“The average was also quite acceptable when considering it jumped 30% last year.
“In the current climate that must give rise to some very real optimism.”
