The Matt Laurie trained two-year-old showed plenty of natural ability, racing clear over the final stages to salute by a soft two lengths.

The win was a thrill for Paul Wolff who bred Moonlover and is the managing part owner of Ilovethiscity.

Moonlover hails from the debut crop of Ilovethiscity, standing at Neville Murdoch’s Larneuk Stud at Euroa in VIctoria.

"We have always had a lot of faith in Ilovethiscity,” said Murdoch.

"Right from his first foal we were confident about his prospects as he stamps them with his own strength and style."

Ilovethiscity, a son of Magic Albert who was trained by Grahame Begg, has had only four first crop runers to date.

A brilliant winner of the G1 Randwick Guineas, G2 Hobartville Stakes and Listed Spring Stakes, Ilovethiscity hails from the prolific family of proven high class stallions Grosvenor and Lonhro.

Ilovethiscity's 2016 fee remains at $6600 (incl gst), standing with Cluster ($6600) and O'Lonhro ($5500).

Chelmsford Stakes winner O’Lonhro was represented by a double last week, Oscar Dee saluting at Pakenham and Down A Long Road winning at Wangaratta at just his second start.

Cluster is letting down in preparation for his second season at stud with Murdoch hopeful he will add to Fastnet Rock's groweing standing as a sire of sires with his sons Hinchinbrook, Smart Missile, Stryker and Wanted all doing so well at stud.
