Indarra wins at Sandown Picture: Racing and Sports

• CANADIAN Silver’s veteran sprinter Steel Zip added another feature win to his impressive record when he won a thrilling edition of the Listed Keith Noud Handicap at Doomben on Saturday.

Winning trainer Pat Duff was delighted with the win of the stable stalwart, a horse who had a great connection with his wife Dinah who sadly lost her battle with cancer three years ago.

"There was some emotion as it was Dinah's last horse," Duff said.

“I have had a lot of success with old horses. You keep them fit by walking and let them do their own thing.

“Steel Zip loves the beach and does about eight kilometres most days.”

Steel Zip was bred and sold by Daandine Stud for $13,000 at the 2009 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale. The Duff stable has prepared the 8YO gelding to 11 wins and 17 placings from 67 starts and earnings of over $780,000.

He is one of three winners produced by the Brisbane two-year-old winning Cossack Warrior mare Zip.

Canadian Silver was a G2 winner in Canada who has produced three other stakes winners - Make Mine Magic, Top Marc and Canadian Time.

• QUALITY filly Indarra became the 74th stakes winner for her sire Stravinsky in the Listed City Of Greater Dandenong Stakes at Sandown.

She is from the Zabeel mare Clarissa and added to another notable day for the late champion sire as his 5YO gelding Hazzabeel became his 157th stakes winner winning the G3 RJ Peters Stakes at Ascot on Saturday.

• MORE Than Ready filly Perfect Reflection followed up a Listed success with a win in the G3 WA Champion Fillies Stakes at Ascot on Saturday.

• JAPAN’s champion sire Deep Impact sired his 20th G1 winner and 70th stakes winner overall when his 4YO mare Marialite won Sunday’s Queen Elizabeth II Cup.
