Dual Group 1 winner In Her Time (Time Thief) is undoubtedly one of the stand-out lots of the 2020 Chairman's Sale.

Owned by Orbis Bloodstock and Peter Brown, In Her Time has proven to be among the top echelon of sprinters in Australia and has won nine of her 31 career starts which have seen her earn over $3.7 million, headlined by victories in the Galaxy Handicap (Gr 1, 1100m) and the Black Caviar Lightning Stakes (Gr 1, 1000m).

The daughter of Time Thief (Redoute's Choice) has been a model of consistency throughout her career and her record also includes a further six-placings at elite level in the Stradbroke Handicap (Gr 1, 1350m) (2nd, 2017), Manikato Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) (2nd, 2017), Tattersalls Tiara (Gr 1, 1350m) (3rd, 2017), TJ Smith Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) (3rd, 2018), and twice in the VRC Sprint Classic (Gr 1, 1200m) (2nd, 2018 and 3rd, 2019), while she also has another four stakes victories to her name.

During an illustrious racetrack career the mare has beaten a whole host of top-class sprinters including the likes of Santa Ana Lane (Lope De Vega), Pierata (Pierro), Redzel (Snitzel), Trapeze Artist (Snitzel), Brave Smash (Tosen Phantom), Alizee (Sepoy), Sunlight (Zoustar), Kementari (Lonhro), Shoals (Fastnet Rock), Global Glamour (Star Witness), English (Encosta De Lago), Booker (Written Tycoon), Redkirk Warrior (Notnowcato), Houtzen (I Am Invincible), Osborne Bulls (Street Cry) and Written By (Written Tycoon) among other stars of the track.

"She's a world-class sprinter and she's proven that by competing against and defeating some of the highest-rated sprinters on the planet the past two to three years,'' Orbis' Paul King said.

Yarraman Park's Harry Mitchell said In Her Time has, understandably, had many admirers during the inspections.

"She really is a lovely looking mare," said Mitchell. "She has a beautiful head and a great action. She is about 16 hands. But she really is a lovely looking mare and taking into account her great race record I would expect her to sell well in ten days' time. These sorts of mares don't come on the market very often.

"We have had quite a few parades today [Tuesday] and we will have a few tomorrow [Wednesday] and she is obviously one of the star lots of what looks a very strong sale on paper."

Mitchell said he expected the sale, which will take place online on May 8, to go well.

"I think online for mares will be fine - but there is the issue of whether people want to buy. I'm sure the nice quality mares will stay up and the good ones will sell really well."
