Reliable Man to stand for increased $17,500
Reliable Man (Dalakhani) will stand for an increased fee of NZ$17,500 (plus GST), having stood the 2021 season for a fee of NZ$15,000 (plus GST), while the stud has announced breeders will not pay the stallion fee until they have a live foal on the ground at 24 hours of age.
“The initiative is gaining good momentum in Australia through the likes of Darley and Vinery Stud, and we see it as an advantage for breeders to utilise stallions of their choice without being required to pay for the service until they have a foal on the ground,” Westbury Stud general manager Russell Warwick said.
Reliable Man’s fee increase comes off the back of a successful season, siring five stakes winners in Australia and New Zealand this season, including WATC Railway Stakes (Gr 1, 1600m) winner Inspirational Girl.
Tarzino’s (Tavistock) fee will remain at NZ$12,000 (plus GST), while Redwood (High Chaparral), and El Roca (Fastnet Rock) will stand for unchanged fees of NZ$8,000 (plus GST).
Meanwhile, the roster is completed by Swiss Ace (Secret Savings) and Telperion (Street Cry) and they will stand for slightly reduced fees, with Swiss Ace commanding a fee of NZ$7,500 (plus GST), having stood last year at NZ$8,000, while Telperion will stand the upcoming spring for a fee of NZ$5,000 down from NZ$7,500 (plus GST) in 2020.
