Dark Angel (Acclamation) will be the most expensive stallion to stand at Yeomanstown Stud in 2023, with the fee for the leading sire to remain at €60,000.

Dark Angel has enjoyed a successful year on the racetrack in 2022, siring four Group / Grade 1 winners, taking his tally to 13 individual Group 1 winners.

He will be joined at the farm by Invincible Army (Invincible Spirit) whose first crop will be two next year. His fee of €7,500 is also unchanged from this year.

Supremacy (Mehmas) has had his fee reduced slightly from €12,000 to €10,000 for his second season at stud. The roster is completed by Shaman (Shamardal) whose fee remains at €5,000. The son of Shamardal (Giant's Causeway) had his first foals this year.

"Dark Angel has had another sensational year at stud, proving himself once again as the Group 1 Champion Sprinter Miler Sire and a Champion two-year-old sire," said Gay O'Callaghan.

"He is now the sire of 13 individual Group 1 winners, with four Group 1 winners in 2022 including his classic winning daughter Mangoustine a decisive winner of the Poule d'Essaie des Pouliches. Joining her in the 2022 Group 1 honours list is Mysterious Night. The two-year-old emerged as a future star when winning the Pattison Summer Stakes Grade 1 in impressive fashion. The emergence also of Alfareeq who showed scintillating speed to land the Jabel Hatta and Top Ranked who was the impressive victor of the Epsom Handicap all showcase Dark Angel's champion credentials."

"It's been with great excitement that we've watched Invincible Army's yearlings sell this autumn. The exceptional son of Invincible Spirit was a Group winner at two, three and four and his progeny have been well supported in the sales ring by trainers, agents, and owners alike who were impressed by the excellent quality of his stock which share his attributes of strength and class. In total he had 57 yearlings sold at auction for an average of €57,680."

"We look forward to the first foals of Supremacy to be born this spring. As a Group 1 winning son of champion sire Mehmas, he is an exciting prospect and a wonderful looking individual who showed both a very high level of ability and toughness on the track. He was the champion two-year-old in England winning the Middle Park Stakes and the Richmond Stakes. He covered a full book of mares in 2022 including 75 stakes performing or producing mares.

"Shaman had his first foals in 2022 and produced an exceptional first crop, so we are looking forward to seeing them in the sales ring this winter. Shaman, a son of Shamardal was a Group 1 miler and a Classic three-year-old with an impressive race record and a Timeform Rating of 119 and has been well supported by Irish and European breeders".
